McDonald’s Australia has launched a new dessert pie with crispy pastry, banana custard and toffee-flavoured caramel sauce.

The fast food chain has given its iconic apple pie a banana-caramel makeover – and diners can order the menu item for just $1.50 from any outlet across the country for a limited time only.

Many customers who recently tasted the latest creations were impressed, with one saying: ‘The pie was well worth the wait… It sure did not disappoint.’

Another said: ‘These pies are amazing please keep them forever please,’ while another added: ‘They are delicious… I swear I could live off them.’

‘Omg the banana caramel pie is amazing!!!! Please keep it,’ another said.

Others revealed on social media they couldn’t wait to try out the new pie, with one saying: ‘Shut up and take my money’.

The banana caramel pie is part of the new range, and diners can order the pie on its own or as part of a McFlurry served with chunks of the crispy pie pastry, banana custard and a warm caramel topping for just $5.

‘I will not rest until I get to have one of these McFlurrys,’ one said.

Many have described the McFlurry as a ‘game changer’ while others called on the fast food chain to keep it as a permanent dessert on its menu.

Last month customers also went crazy for the cinnamon balls (pictured). The $3 dessert comes with hot fudge dipping sauce for an extra $1.50 and is currently only available in NSW

The menu item, which includes six doughnuts coated in cinnamon sugar, is available for a limited time only. 

‘Doughnut Balls from Maccas. I’ve died and gone to heaven,’ one said, while another revealed: ‘Did anyone else know you could get Doughnut Balls? Today is a good day!’
